Keeping Mum

A black comedy. The story about how to save the daughter's life. Really scary though at last. The music is nice. And try to imagine that how Mr.Beans can serve as a starchy vicar if you had the chance to watch it.

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Movie based on the famous novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The movie have been kept inside my album but until last week I had not watched it yet. The story is not as heavy as what I thought. The love affairs of a Miss Bennet, a Miss Bennet, a Miss Bennet, a Miss Bennet and a Miss Bennet with Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, Mr. Wickham, Mr. Collins (and so on) are natural, funny some how, and mostly happy endings. Enough words have been said by others about the image, the music, the actors and actresses, so I just write some my feelings here under the precondition that I have not read the original novel yet.

What really amused me in the opening of the movie is skilled the use of long shots: The opening scene of telling the life of the Bennets; The scene at the second ball shows the admiration, the hatred, the father's love, the regret being rejected, and the loneliness just in a single gap less moving of the viewpoint of the camera.

Mrs Bonnet's looking for the appropriate husbands is the key idea in the whole story as well as her main tasks. She is a good mother though, in my opinion: She was looking for the every chance for the Bennets to meet with the potential good young man, who would inherit the good life for her daughters. She was trying by all means to show the best of her daughters to those young men. I finally got to like her.

The dialogues are really beautiful English, which made me have to open the subtitle and the dictionary again trying to understand the conversation. A read of the original novel would not be a bad idea for me to sense the beauty of the language, while Shakespeare seems too ancient to me.

When there is a Great Fire Wall

Following post was posted on live at November 30 the time I could not access blogspot, A big complain on the GFW. Anyway the access came back finally. Just a brief introduction for you guys about the real internet policy which is going in China.

For almost one month, the user from China mainland could not access the blogspot directly, so, the Great Fire Wall became the murderer by all the blogspot user from China. Someone think this is because now blogspot is related to google and google was black-mailed by baidu. Finally, maybe the Greate Fire Wall has updated and blogspot was released, leaving wikipedia alone still walled outside China mainland.

But was there anything happened to me in my life?

Days and days working in the cubic, to make the finally deadline at the end of the year... following the Prison Break, Supernatural, Smallville, Heroes, Lost every week, even the Lost has already lost...

Also I am practicing for the small show in the coming Company's Christmas Party. Though I thought it would be interesting, actually it became so difficult for me, especially I did not attend the first training... and I will miss the coming 3 training sessions cause there will be a 5 days
job. Yes, near-real job, the second job for me in the past 4 month. Get some feeling of the past two years back, even though only small part of. And also because of the training, I missed the show of The King's Singer today in Beijing.

The 3 body by Liu Ci Xin have finished its publish in the monthly journal Science Fiction World. But after reading this long-expected work, some disappointment drew down my feeling: he continued his brave imagination, but the literal part also shows his lack of as a good story writer. Even I'm thinking the possibilities of the movie productions based on his great pieces, such as The Ball Lightning, The Wandering Earth, his works still need the big re-writing on the literary side to be accepted by the producers or screen writer.

So the life was still going on, with old friends and new friends, with the TV marathons (thanks to the internet), with the work and business and side-business, with the happiness and sadness and some dumbness. It is the life behind Great Fire Wall.

Logging

Just returned back from one test well near Beijing City. We have spent 7 days in YanJiao, stuffed with all kinds of drinks, yogurt, snacks, as well as hot boat, dumplings, BBQs. Have been kicked off from one hotel and checked into another one with all luggages packed with ourselves. Have got all kinds of receipts from the local taxi drivers, the formal ones, the two-year-expired ones, the diesel receipts and the highway fee receipts.

The end of the year is coming and everything is being pushed to finish or give a milestone out. This test well logging trip was the first YanJiao well trip with full BGC crew (Ding helped us for the first 3 days during his honeymoon).

Just as the real logging job, unexpected events happened during the time of the trip, and they have enlonged the whole plan from the original 4 days. The renters had to cut us in the middle with their own test activities without informing us beforehand. And even one guy from the renter (A similar company doing the logging jobs as we do) came into our logging units and complain the unsatisfactory of the whole first 4 months career in his company..really ironic.

Job was finished. After having the dinner in JinDingXuan near YongHeGong, get really tired after this trip. need to sleep......

Say NO to PSP

I need a Playstation Portable.

First time seeing from Kevin's son, who was pressing enjoyably the buttons of the PSP when we were have a small party in Pop Inn one night, the PSP became a option for my mobile entertainment solution. Even later Zane brought his PSP to kemaman also. But after all the efforts I paid this morning, it was found that it will be such a headache for a relatively poor guy like me, not only money but also time, to buy a PSP and have it hacked and to play in China.... And another staring to the small LCD after the 8 hours facing to the big LCD monitor in the office, shit, iPod is better.

Now, I'm looking for the PS3 as the next target, after spending 4 hours looking through all the information online, and I have to go back now, to pick up the washed cloth from the washing machine.... Yeah, maybe a dry machine will be a better choice for me, with more real use indeed.

So, let's face it, PS3 for next year, and, .., a dryer machine for now.
